about

In 1998 William F. Goovers, then Director of Sentinel Halls the Recreation Center located on the U.S. Air Force Base in Zweibrucken Germany, walked in to my office with an airman carrying a large box. Enclosed in the box was an IBM computer loaded with Microsoft software. At the time I was a civilian contractor to the U.S. Air Force Morale, Welfare, Recreation and Services Agency stationed in Zweibrucken. After supervising the unpacking and setting up of the IBM, Mr. Goovers presented to me a very large book saying “Learn this.” And so began my career using computers for advertising, artwork and digital design. Until that day the old Triad system was all I had ever had to work with uploading inventories, payroll, etc...

Coming from a retail background managing a Curious Cargo, merchandising was my mainstay. Everything from wind chimes to books, statues to party supplies, knick-knacks to furniture. I loved it when a truck would arrive, there would always something new. I had worked my way up to buyer for the company just before moving to Europe taking the MWR position. Thats when the fun really began.

As Assistant Events Director of the Recreation Center my job included press releases of all events, design and layout of all printed media, logistics of all events, parties as well as environmental safety inspector/instructor to the restaurant located in Sentinel Halls. Working with Events Director Angelika Seibert and my predecessor Darleen Savell, we developed and received the U.S. Air Force Excellence in Programming Award for Castle Rallies. Until the arrival of the IBM all design was physical draw/cut/paste. Artwork, design and layout from the ground up - CCDavis Designs has been there.

Upon my return to the United States in 1992 I worked in a crafting shop, restaurant and retail management until 1999 when I began marketing race teams, circle track teams and drivers. Proposal development and layout, digital presentations, print media and press release, decal design, vinyl cutting, layering and decaling of race cars and race haulers.

In 2005 I began working with Metalcraft Tools. Catalog design/layout, brochure and trade show media, advertising: digital and print. In December of 2008, with over 20 years experience in research and marketing, project/ and event design and layout from basic checklists to implementation I left Metalcraft Tools to pursue freelance work.

My college days were spent at Mars Hill College, Mars Hill, North Carolina studying Elementary Education K-4. Always an artist at heart I also studied art. I have been blessed to use my talents to work in many different fields.

Metaphoric mother of many – biologic mother of one. Lover of: God, one man, my family, my country, music, history, travel, books, adventure, gardens, animals, nature, art (fine and otherwise), old movies, mysteries, and good food. Could live very well without: pigeon holes, linear thinking, slow cars, whining, and people that take themselves too seriously. When not working I sing a lot, dance a little, garden a lot, but mostly clean house, work on our farm and try to keep up with my teenage daughter.
